Scott Kahn is an American painter and draughtsman known for his contemplative and finely structured work. He earned his BFA from the University of Pennsylvania and his MFA from Rutgers University, and further studied at the Art Students League in New York under Theodoros Stamos. During this period, he encountered several first-generation Abstract Expressionists, including Mark Rothko, whose ideas left a lasting influence on his artistic development.
For twenty-five years, Kahn was represented by the Katharina Rich Perlow Gallery in New York City, where he presented numerous solo exhibitions. In 2004, his achievements were recognized with a retrospective exhibition at the Arthur Ross Gallery at the University of Pennsylvania. Kahn has received prestigious awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the Edward Albee Foundation. His work is held in major public, corporate, and private collections, including the University of Pennsylvania, Dulles International Airport, AT&T, Marriott International, J.P. Morgan, MetLife, and Philip Morris USA.
