Mark Haworth was encouraged by his family’s artistic background to pursue his passion for art. Initially a music major at Sam Houston State University, he was inspired by portrait artist Glenn Bahm, who ignited his interest in painting. Drawing influence from masters like Julian Onderdonk and Isaac Levitan, Mark switched his focus to art, earning a BFA in 1977.
After moving to Fredericksburg, Texas in 1983, Mark was captivated by the region’s silvery light and scenic landscapes, which became central themes in his work. Over the past 40 years, he has showcased his art in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions across the country. Mark was featured in the “Texas Festival” at the John F. Kennedy Center in 1991 and earned multiple awards at the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s Night of Artists show.
