Kenneth Peloke
b. 1978

BORN IN
Upstate New York
KNOWN FOR
Monochrome Western scenes
Peloke, an artist based in Scottsdale, Arizona, spent his early childhood in central New York before moving west at age fifteen. Drawn to the freedom and untamed spirit of the West, he has long resisted routine and predictability—qualities that strongly inform his work. Although art was always part of his life, family responsibilities led him to pursue construction as a career, relegating painting to spare moments in his garage. The economic downturn of 2008 became a turning point, prompting him to commit fully to art and immerse himself in studio practice.
After a year of experimentation across genres, Peloke found his voice with a life-size painting of a horse. An Idaho gallery quickly sold that work and an abstract cowboy piece, launching his gallery career nationwide. Today his work ranges from large-scale hyper-realism to expressive abstraction, often centered on horses and solitary cowboys. Despite being colorblind, Peloke masterfully employs a restrained palette, creating powerful works that evoke freedom and connection to the natural world.
