George Northrup

George Northup made his home near the Snake River in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where he and his family lived for thirty-four years. It was also where he drew inspiration for his sculptures of wildlife and figures in bronze.

Encouraged many years ago by the resident artists Grant Hagen, Conrad Schwiering, John Clymer and others to pursue the creating of images in metal, George made sculpture his life’s work for more than 20 years.

Northup created a large, monumental sculpture commissioned by the Grand National Waterfowl Hunt Club in Cambridge, Maryland that is the focal point for a new Eastern shore information center.
