Christopher Blossom is a painter celebrated for his marine and western landscapes. Introduced to marine painting at age twelve by his father’s friend, John Stobart, Blossom developed a lifelong passion for ships and the sea. He studied illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York and began his career as a commercial and freelance illustrator, gaining skills in industrial design that later informed his historically accurate depictions of vessels.
In the late 1970s, he shifted to marine painting full-time, emphasizing historical fidelity and atmospheric detail. He became a charter member and former president of the American Society of Marine Artists. By the mid-1990s, Blossom expanded into western landscapes, inspired by plein-air painting trips and backpacking excursions in Colorado and Wyoming. In 1989, he exhibited with the National Academy of Western Art and became a NAWA member in 1992. Across his work, Blossom strives to immerse viewers in natural beauty, whether at sea or in the western wilderness.
