Harriet Whitney Frishmuth was an American sculptor known for elegant depictions of female nudes.

Frishmuth was from Philadelphia and studied sculpture in Paris with Auguste Rodin and in New York with Gutzon Borglum, both renowned sculptors whose styles and techniques inspired Frishmuth. Her reputation was later cemented with exhibits of her work at the National Academy of Design and the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

Her works can now be seen in some of the world’s leading museums and collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Dallas Museum of Art, and Ohio University’s Kennedy Museum of Art.
